Infertility

My Story

Story pictureStory pictureStory picture

In 2005, my husband and I embarked on the journey to become parents. Unfortunately, we were met with the diagnosis of infertility. Seeking to still build our family, we pursued more tests and found I had endometriosis and anovulation. I began going through treatments, blood-work, medications, and ultra-sounds and we were blessed with a pregnancy 3 years later. However, we lost the baby early in the pregnancy and I was heart-broken. A few months later we were pregnant again and welcomed our son into the world in 2009. There were some very dark moments during that time, and I had to find a way to love myself despite the feelings my body had failed me over and over again. Throughout it all, I met amazing people who offered support and made me realize that one day I wanted to pay it forward. Thus, Chance to Hope was born in 2010. C2H is a non-profit that seeks to bring resources and financial assistance to infertile couples who are trying to build their families through treatment OR adoption. My journey was not always great, and it's not over, but I have learned if you want to change something, you start with yourself. My desire is to offer hope when it's so hard to find it. I feel it's important to stand up for yourself, your fertility, your health, and your family. Infertility is not widely understood and has gotten a bad name for itself from various sources. However, it is my goal to bring a face to it, talk openly to anyone who'll listen, and see the public become tender to the hurts of the infertile. We support so many sick and injured...infertile couples are both. They have physical reasons for not being able to conceive, some are very painful. On the same note, they are injured (physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually). I could not have made it without support. There's a time to stand for what you believe in. For me, the time is now.
